When a voter can't attend, proxy voting makes sure that their ballots still count. With the native proxy voting feature, voters delegate their own voting right to a chosen representative, or an election manager assigns the delegation on their behalf. Either way, administrators define who is eligible to receive delegations, so the process stays compliant with your bylaws.

How It Works
Enable & Define Eligibility
Admins turn on proxy voting, as a standing setting or per vote, and choose which voter list may receive delegations.
Voter or Admin Delegates
The voter, or an election manager on their behalf, selects a different eligible voter to cast their ballot, optionally limited to a specific time period.
Combined & Documented Voting
The proxy holder casts their own ballot plus every delegated ballot, weight included, or submits everything at once with "vote for all voter lists at once".
Good to Know
Delegations can cascade: if a voter delegates to someone who has delegated onward themselves, the last voter in the chain casts all accumulated ballots.
Revocation: if a voter deletes their delegation before the proxy has voted, the voting right transfers back automatically. Once the proxy has voted, it can no longer be reversed.
Standing delegations: with permanent proxy voting enabled, a delegation can carry forward across future votes automatically, rather than applying to a single ballot only.
Delegation caps & time windows: admins can cap how many delegations a single voter may hold, or leave it unlimited, and any delegation can be limited to a specific start and end date.
Admin tools: election managers can search, create, and remove delegations from Voting Rights → Proxy Settings, including a bulk "Delete all delegations" action for a full reset. Delegations an admin creates can be deleted by an admin; delegations a voter creates themselves cannot.
Invitation emails automatically include a note about proxy voting and a link to manage delegations, whenever the feature is enabled.
